Aid to getting your light scorce in colouring

you will need a scrap of acetate and marker pen
draw the lines as shown in image
i used the right angle lines on my cutting mat

here i have over laid it onto a stamped image
as you will see the light scorce is coming from the right
this can be moved around to any angle left right top bottom
you choose

(example)-the blue arrows show where the light will hit
this is where you will start with your  lightest colour
be it Spectrum Noir ...Crayons... or water colour paints
after a while  you wont need to use the aid
its a great way of learning to get  a 3d effect from you stamped images

Little Witches Hat Card

hi everyone
my dies from Joanna arrived postie must have had a rocket some where lol
you caun't fault joanna's service it's excellent!
right so here it is a witches hat card from nestie circle dies
the only Black card stock i had here was the stardream from joanna so you might say this hat is very special i just tend to stroke that card stock lol ..
i used carnations from Wild Orchid and the large ivy leaves a touch of green gingham ribbon also from joanna my crystal glitter around the brim and on leaves just for that touch of sparkle oh i nearly forgot i went over the joins and around brim with Black Spectrum Noir  pens to cover the white core of the card stock......
the hat part is hollow so you could add sweeties
or put a ribbon handle on brim and make gift hats for trick or treat
it would also make great party bags for a little boy/girls birthday party done in different colours

im entering this into the wild orchid challenge

Little Tutorial Colouring Reds with Spectrum Noir Pens

first stamp your image with momento ink onto neenah card

decide where your light sorce will be coming from  mine will be on the right hand side
use the lightest of your colours i have used orange  no 23.....

then added coral red no 12 at both sides of the orange then with the lightest  orange colour  23 work over the coral red to blend the colours at the joins

contiue with other colours in bands as be-for working out to the edges of image...
with scarlet  no 13 and  brick red no 94  for the darket shadow areas  you dont need alot of the brick red

as you can see i have gone over each band of colour with the  scarlet then coral red working inwards
till i reached the orange (lightest area)
with chisel end i went over the final strip of orange colour to bring them all together in a smooth blended piece you can add more of the brick red to get deeper shadows but dont forget to blend out with the scarlet

little tip
if you dont have all the colours i have used you can deepen the reds you have by leaving them to dry and going over a smaller area with the same colour
the green grey 3 is very good with the reds that doesnt move the red colour around you can place that on top of your reds once its completed if you choose to

i hope that helps with your reds  in Spectrum Noir  pens
