A little Humphrey picture

hi everyone

thought i would share a little picture frame that i decorated over the holidays

to go at the side of my grand daughters bed

i had to use one of my favourite Humphrey images i do love this little fellow

he was coloured in with pastel pencils onto pastel board the frame was from Ikea very inexpensive

i added spellbinder hearts cut from core-dination card a touch of glitter ribbons and flowers

hope you managed to catch the crafters companion shows on TV today

Biscornu pin cushion cut on e craft

Good morning all

been experimenting with fabric again on E Craft

i wanted to see how the E Craft would cope with small sizes and shapes in fabric i should have known !

it cut a dream!!!!

using the same  method as i did with padded heart  and freezer paper using fundamental 1 square design

i cut 2 x  2-1/2” squares to make my mini Biscornu pin cushion 

once i had removed the freezer paper i pressed in a small turnover  for seam hand stitched together  filled it with toy stuffing

add the buttons to both sides

this was the smallest size i could hand sew together

it measures just under 1-3/4” finished

Finished Heart Cut on E Craft

here it is

the finished hand stitched heart

it took longer to sew than it did to cut

as i said i didn’t use  any interfacing  before i cut it out

or should i say  put it in E Craft….

E Craft has cut so precisely  even with handling and sewing  together the pieces of fabric it has hardly frayed around the edges

as you can imagine im one happy crafter here 

im sure with  light weight interfacing  ironed onto fabric  prior sandwiching it in freezer paper and cutting

it will sew up just like the ones i did  at Christmas that where cut using Nestie dies

E Craft and Fabric

Hello Everyone

i have been very busy here since Christmas had no time to craft as you all know

but

so wanted to try out the E Craft on  scrap fabric

i got a chance to play today

Image 1…..  100% Cotton Fabric nothing else no interfacing

image 2….. the fabric sandwiched between 2 pieces of Freezer Paper  that i ironed on to fabric to give it some stability i hope you can see how clean it cut !  it did a fabulous job

set the heart shape from fundamental 1 card to 4” no tabs on Pressure 8

it cut a dream !!!! no snagging  a hot knife through butter springs to mind.

 im really impressed

image 3……. is the final result with freezer paper removed  you just pull it off so easy  my brain has gone into over drive lol im thinking applique for quilts just imagine   team that with the fabric spray from crafters companion  a marriage made in heaven ...

just  hand sewing the 2 pieces together at moment will take a picture of finished  project  later

darn weather

 had  hardly any sleep with high winds heard a few bangs in the night thought it was bins
only to find this morning that it's taken out all my fence panels and post along full stretch  of my back garden
the panels are  now doing a good interpretation of fire wood the  post are snapped clean in two..
had to come back indoors its fowl weather out there still freezing cold  raining and winds are beyond belief
oh well.... shouldn't grumble  at least im safe

New Year New Start

Happy New Year Everyone

i have been looking back on some of my cards from 2011

this one  from the swalk  winter stamps from crafters companion fits the bill perfectly to start us off in 2012

i had a lovely evening with my family and his partners family   they put on some lovely food plenty to drink and great company

i left early as Sophia needed her bed bless her she loved it a real party baby lol…

i baby sat while her mummy and daddy  re joined the  celebrations

i didn’t mind one bit ….

the fireworks were beautiful at midnight

im looking forward to 2012 and all it brings

got ham to cook ….do a little cleaning then son dil and grand daughter are popping over we are off to my youngest sons later for a bit of New Year Celebrations i don’t think i will last till midnight but will give it my best shot....

the only resolution i am making this year is to be as happy as i can.....

another thing sorted and breaking news

 im not sure if i mentioned the other week my son had a bang in his car on his way to take Sophia to nursery he got rear ended the other driver drove off.....
few days before Christmas he got a call from the police saying that the other driver had finally reported the accident meaning  it could go through insurance
 the insurance have written the car off far too much damage to repair...
but the upside is the firm that my DIL works for  have offered her a company car ...
im so pleased for them it means they can start afresh in the new year  the old car has just been collected so that's another thing off the To Sort List
mum has just rung to say the part for her boiler will be here in couple of days and she can now get quotes for repairs so all in all a good day..for them both
as you will gather what with my decorating Christmas plans and other family stuff happening around me
 im sat here still with a smile on my face..... i really do count my blessings each and everyday im staying calm cool and collected..

oh by the way
